The sun has started to set on a clear sky, painting the horizon in different hues of orange and red. A couple is walking down the beach, hand in hand. A gentle wind is blowing the woman’s hair and floating her dress, making her look like a goddess of the ocean. No traffic, no fumes, no factories. What a perfect paradise. Horses on the meadow, running wild and free. A million reasons to smile and feel happy. Coming closer to the couple, you want to sense the excitement of their dream vacation. Then you hear the sudden words from this attractive young woman; ‘I don’t like the smell of those horses.’

Your Thoughts Make You

I listened to Earl Nightingale’s motivational videos about success and happiness. He told about his visit to this beautiful place where he had met this couple in ideal circumstances. But, even when surrounded by this magical landscape, all this woman could blurt out was her opinion about the smell of those gorgeous creatures of nature.

Everything free in this world has the most meaning, like nature, health, and relationships, yet we often fail to give them the appreciation they deserve. Taking things for granted makes us blind to see their true worth. Material things can only bring a very short gratification, forcing us to want more. Building your gratitude over more profound things can provide lasting satisfaction.

There will always be two voices inside you, trying to take you in the opposite directions. When you quiet your surroundings and cut the speed, you can teach yourself to listen to that right voice. Attracting good thoughts makes you feel better, and it becomes easier to choose them over bad ones, no matter what challenges you face in your life.

Think About Life as an Exciting Journey

If the sun shone every day, you wouldn’t even notice its presence. We need rainy days to feel the highs of shiny ones. You can choose at this moment that you let every storm of the world put you on your knees, or you take it as an experiment that modifies you to whom you were supposed to become.

You can start seeing your life as an adventure, with different obstacles you must conquer on your road. You can change your attitude towards your daily life by taking action, despite the fear and insecurity that new situations and problems make you feel.

There will always be something unsolved, unfixed, and imperfect in your life. Deciding that nothing is ever certain, you can learn to be at peace and content with your current situation. It doesn’t mean you deny negative emotions or bury your issues. Instead, you understand that all things cannot be fixed or controlled at the moment and find happiness living in the middle of challenges.

I’m challenging you to kick off your positivity challenge. It doesn’t mean that you have failed whenever negative or conflicting thoughts come into your mind. Just do not talk to them out loud and suffocate them with good thoughts as soon as they try to emerge. If a bad day takes over, then start again.

You can cross a checkmark for a completed day whenever you have succeeded in having a good day. Trust me; like I, you became addicted to thinking about these challenges in the morning and adding that yellow color to your calendar in the evening. The happy and grateful person will always be the one shining the brightest.

Breaking the pattern of negative thinking and habits is not easy. However, choosing positive thoughts over negative ones takes as much energy. In contrast, the result is entirely different. Be an influence on other people, surprising them with your positivity. Put a yellow raincoat on when it rains, run outside, and spread that smile.
