This is so true. As a creative person, I struggle with my mind wandering around with new ideas. I have started to discipline my days and concentrate on one task at a time like it was a short sprint.
I know how long each task should take, and I split my goals into 25 minutes action periods. After that, I reward myself by checking my phone or email or having another cup of hot drink. I have seen a significant change in my productivity.
