Why does Materialism Keep You Unhappy?
A red, wooden Cabin by the lake, with a stunning, broad open water landscape, green trees, and a mixture of plants in different hues. Wild animals in their most natural environment, and sun rays dancing against steady water. A pool of steaming water and a hot sauna invite you to enjoy. The smell of fresh fish in the barbeque promises a dish that not even a Michelin-star restaurant could offer. No one could be unhappy in a place like this, right?
You’re Looking the Wrong Way
I visited one couple this summer in this picturesque summer place. When I arrived at their summer home, I thought how fortunate they were to spend their summers in such a harmonic place. But unfortunately, as soon as I arrived there, things started to crack, and I faced the brutal reality.
These people had achieved financial success and had everything in their life that a human could ever want. However, I didn’t see happiness. They were still stressed about uncompleted tasks and looking for flaws in each other. Yet, they are both fantastic people, so it made me feel blue about how they saw their lives.
